EDUCATION

Utah ranks high in our quality of education, but diligence is required to ensure that trend continues into the future.

Our government, both State and Local have attempted to whittle away at funding for our education. This must be opposed. Without proper funding, our future as an education leader is in doubt.

We must be willing to listen to our teachers. Too much of our education policy has been directed from above without input from our teachers.
The State needs to foster a relationship between the parents, teachers, and administrators that ensures our future success.

HOUSING

Housing costs in Utah Valley have become unaffordable for the average resident.
Our State has done little to alleviate this problem. In fact, they have progressively used our tax dollars to facilitate corporate development of housing.
Corporate owned rentals only keep our housing costs artificially high.

Amongst our poorest residents, housing can become unreachable, even renting.
Most homeless have jobs.

The State needs to be focused on making housing more affordable and available to the residents of this State.

RIGHTS

In the military, one of my key duties for over a decade was to ensure that all operations protected American Rights. Particularly in ensuring that we were in legal compliance with the US Constitution and other Federal Laws, such as the Privacy Act.

Our Government, at all levels, often privatizes activities that would be government controlled in other nations.
Then comes the claim that the Government is not responsible if those private entities violate Citizen's Rights.

It is time to close this loophole.
Many of the laws in question forbid the Government from doing this. Others do not.
But we must ensure that all Government activities respect the People's Rights, privatized or not.
